intelligent Machine Control

From first-to-last pass, rough cut to finish grade, the D39i-24 extends production gains. Once engaged, the intelligent Machine Control system automatically starts the cut and lowers the blade to grade in a typical dozing pass. If the load increases to a maximum, the blade automatically raises to minimize track slip to keep dozing productively. This intelligence achieves up to 8% greater efficiency in moving material, based on start-to-finish grade testing against typical aftermarket machine control systems.

With factory integration and a host of intelligent capabilities, the more owners of the D39PXi-24 run their machines, the more they save. The monthly production gains from starting sooner, finishing faster, using less fuel and saving on materials can add up quickly.

Unrivaled Visibility

Super-slant nose, cab forward design locates the operator closer to the middle of the machine for unrivaled visibility to the blade cutting edges.

Large quiet integrated ROPS/FOPS certified CAB design is sealed to reduce noise, vibration and dust entering the CAB.

Standard rearview monitoring system improves operator awareness and eases operator fatigue. The camera can be synchronized with reverse operation for increased operator rearward visibility.

An air suspension, heated seat, with adjustable lumbar support, tilt, and tool less arm rest adjustments allow the operator to work comfortably all day.

Fuel Efficient Tier 4 Final Power

Komatsu Tier 4 Final certified engine provides improved fuel efficiency and improved throttle response with the addition of the new water-cooled Variable Flow Turbocharger (VFT), water-cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), new Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), and an advanced electronic control system.

An integrated muffler and Komatsu Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (KDOC) provide 100% passive regeneration without interrupting daily operation. The no maintenance required KDOC is designed to last the life of the engine.

The DEF tank has a sight gauge, easily accessible in a lockable compartment, and is designed for a 2:1 DEF/fuel refill ratio. The DEF pump and filter are separated from the tank for improved maintenance access.

New auto-Idle shutdown reduces unproductive idle time and saves fuel.

Efficient Hydrostatic Transmission

Komatsu designed engine and hydrostatic transmission control technology with large variable displacement pumps and motors help save fuel and improve performance.

A Quick-shift, three-speed mode (heavier dozing) and variable, 20-speed customizable transmission mode (fine dozing), provide greater flexibility for a variety of applications and personal preferences.

Operator selectable (E) Economy and (P) Power modes, allow the operator to easily switch between working modes, to meet working conditions.

A single pedal (Decelerator/Brake), can be easily configured for constant engine speed control or function as a traditional decelerator.

Advanced Monitoring System

A large 7” multi-lingual, high-resolution LCD color monitor with Ecology Guidance, helps operators monitor machine performance to maximize fuel efficiency.

Pioneering KOMTRAX Level 5 telematics provide key machine information, including KDOC status, DEF consumption, fuel level, operating hours, location, cautions and maintenance alerts. Machine information can be monitored through the internet or smart phone.

New standard Operator Identification System makes it possible to view Komtrax data by job, application or operator.

Komatsu advanced diagnostics are integrated into the monitor for troubleshooting without a laptop or additional software.

Up to 5 programmable individual operator settings allows the machine to be easily set up for different operator preferences.
