Machine Performance

  • New Komatsu Traction Control System (KTCS) monitors for wheel spin and automatically applies independent brake assemblies for optimum traction in all ground conditions to improve productivity  
  • Tier 4 Final Komatsu engine with increased horsepower provides exceptional performance while reducing fuel consumption up to seven percent
  • The McPherson strut type suspension with a special A-arm between each wheel and the main frame provides a small 28 feet 7 inch turning radius
  • Keeping track of production is easier with a standard integrated Payload Meter (PLM).  Loaded material weight is displayed on the LCD monitor for the truck operator and external display lamps light up when the truck has reached capacity, minimizing underloaded or overloaded haul cycles.  Production data can be monitored through KOMTRAX or downloaded

Ride Performance

  • The all new cab is mounted on top of viscous dampers to reduce mechanical vibration and noise transmitted from the machine to the operator environment
  • Rear hydropneumatic rear suspension provides a smooth ride over rough terrain to maximize production and operator comfort
  • Large capacity, continuously cooled multiple disc brakes also function as a highly responsive retarder providing the operator confidence at high speed
  • Automatic retard speed control (ARSC) allows the operator to simply set downhill travel speed for added operator confidence with 1,075 HP of retarding capacity

Operator Environment

  • The new high capacity operator’s seat is equipped with air suspension, 3-point seat belt, and is heated and ventilated for added comfort
  • A forward-facing training seat with a 3” lap belt is located on the right side of the cab and can be folded  
  • The front dash panel provides excellent visibility to a 7” monitor and a rearview monitoring system
  • New stairways and walkways are made with dimpled slip-resistant plates for better traction
