Top Features

4th Generation Hydrostatic Transmission (HST)

Variable speed traction control system allows the operator to dial in the tractive effort to match working conditions and eliminate wheel slippage for more efficient operation.

Auto-mode automatically adjusts tractive effort without operator input. Operator-selectable Max Traction provides 100% tractive effort and S-Mode reduces tire spin in slippery conditions.

Creep mode, active in the 1st speed range, can be adjusted up to 8 mph via the knob on the right hand console. Travel speed can be precisely set while still allowing full hydraulic flow.

The dynamic braking feature of the HST transmission extends service brake life.

Versatile PZ Linkage

The  WA270-8 combines the best of a Z-Bar linkage and a PZ linkage while maintaining parallel lift.

Large breakout force for powerful digging.

The bucket auto rollback feature tilts the bucket back as the boom raises to eliminate spillage, similar to a traditional Z-bar machine.

Return to level can be set for both a bucket and fork or other attachment. Switching between the two is done with a switch in the cab.

Powerful Performance and Low Fuel Consumption

Komatsu's powerful 107 series engine utilizes a new variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), Komatsu diesel particulate filter (KDPF), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to meet Tier 4 Final emissions regulations.

SmartLoader logic matches engine output to the work load, saving fuel while remaining productive.

The variable displacement piston pump combined with closed-center load sensing system (CLSS) results in a highly efficient hydraulic system with minimal loss and lower fuel consumption.

Operator Environment

Operator's cabin provides the operator with a large, quiet and pressurized work environment on viscous damper mounts while providing excellent visibility during operation.

Multi-function mono lever with Forward-Neutral-Reverse switch, Max Traction button and EPC switch (to control the optional 3rd spool valve) reduce fatigue on the operator.

Operator comfort is increased with a new high-capacity seat with heat and air suspension, auxiliary stereo input, and two 12 V outlets

7" LCD high resolution monitor with key pad allows the operator fast, accurate viewing of operational information.

Tilting and telescoping steering column provides excellent visibility to the 7" LCD monitor and easy access to all the machine controls

Easy Maintenance KOMTRAX

Every Komatsu Tier 4 Final construction machine comes standard with Komatsu CARE complimentary factory scheduled maintenance for 2,000 hours or the first 3 years, and 2 complimentary KDPF exchanges within the first 5 years. The Komatsu CARE program covers all new Komatsu Tier 4 Final equipment, whether rented, leased or purchased.

Gull-wing style engine doors have two stages for easy engine access. The reversible cooling fan and radiators are easily cleaned via the swing up rear door.

KOMTRAX users can monitor machine utilization, fuel consumption, working modes, KDPF regeneration and receive e-mail notifications of important events.
